Post preview
A rendering that shows exactly how a post will appear on a platform before you publish: truncation, formatting, media, and all.
A post preview is a rendering of your content as it will appear once published, before you hit the button. Instead of guessing how your text, line breaks, hashtags, links, and images will look in the feed, a preview shows you the real thing, so you can catch problems while they're still fixable.
This matters because platforms transform your content in ways that aren't obvious in a plain text editor. Line breaks may render differently. Long posts get truncated at a "…see more" cutoff, and where that cutoff falls determines whether your hook survives or gets clipped mid-thought. Links may collapse into cards or shorten. Images get cropped to specific aspect ratios. Special formatting can display inconsistently. What looks fine as you type can look wrong once it's live, and by then it's public.
An accurate preview closes that gap. It answers the questions that otherwise become post-publish regrets: Does my first line land before the truncation? Is the image cropped badly? Did that emoji or bold text render right? For cross-posting, a per-platform preview is even more valuable, since the same text can look great on LinkedIn and awkward on X. Seeing both side by side lets you adapt before publishing rather than after.
The key quality of a preview is accuracy: it has to match what the platform genuinely renders, quirks and all, or it gives false confidence. Postopus shows a live post preview for LinkedIn and X as you write, cut where each platform cuts. You can also try a free LinkedIn preview or X preview without an account.
