Premium / Blue
X's paid subscription (formerly Twitter Blue, now X Premium) that bundles a verification checkmark with reach, longer posts, and other perks.
Premium (previously called Twitter Blue, now X Premium) is X's paid subscription tier. It began as a modest add-on offering conveniences like a tweet-edit button and custom app icons, and evolved into the platform's main paid product, bundling a blue verification checkmark with a range of creator-oriented features.
The typical bundle includes several things creators care about. There's the checkmark itself. There's a longer character limit, letting subscribers write posts far beyond the standard cap. There's a stated boost in reach and reply prominence: subscriber posts are ranked more favorably in conversations and, per X, in the algorithm. And there are quality-of-life tools: editing published posts, longer video uploads, and richer analytics. Higher tiers (such as Premium+) reduce or remove ads and unlock additional features.
For creators deciding whether to subscribe, the value comes down to how much you use the platform. If X is a core channel for your audience and business, the reach advantage, longer posts (useful for detailed threads or standalone essays), and analytics can pay for themselves. If X is a minor or occasional channel, the subscription is harder to justify on the checkmark alone, since the badge no longer signals notability the way it once did.
Watch how the offering changes, because X has iterated on Premium's pricing, tiers, and included features frequently. What's bundled today may differ tomorrow, so verify the current tiers and perks directly on X before subscribing rather than relying on older summaries.
