How it works

Simple and instant

  1. Find where the image goes

Sizes are grouped by where the image appears: your profile, a company page, posts, articles, newsletters and events, and video.

  2. Export at the listed size

Match the pixel size and ratio LinkedIn gives so the image stays sharp and is not cropped. Stay under the file size limit in the notes.

  3. Check the source

Every row links to the LinkedIn Help Center article it comes from, so you can confirm a size before a launch.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What size is a LinkedIn banner?

The banner on a personal profile (LinkedIn calls it the background photo or cover image) is 1584 × 396 pixels, a 4:1 ratio, as a JPG or PNG under 8 MB. A company page cover is a different size: 1512 × 256 pixels, PNG or JPEG, up to 3 MB.

What is the best image size for a LinkedIn post?

LinkedIn recommends post photos 1080 pixels wide, in any ratio from 3:1 (wide) to 4:5 (portrait), at least 552 × 276 and up to 5 MB. 4:5 is the tallest ratio the feed shows. LinkedIn's single image ad specs give 1200 × 628 for landscape, 1200 × 1200 for square and 720 × 900 for vertical.

What size is a LinkedIn carousel?

A carousel you post yourself is a document post, and LinkedIn sets no pixel size for it: upload a PDF, PowerPoint or Word file up to 100 MB and 300 pages, with every page the same size. Carousel ads are different: LinkedIn recommends 1080 × 1080 (1:1) images, 2 to 10 cards, up to 10 MB each.

What size is a LinkedIn company page logo?

LinkedIn recommends 400 × 400 pixels for a Page logo, with a minimum of 268 × 268. Page images must be PNG or JPEG files up to 3 MB.

What size is a LinkedIn article or event cover?

Article covers are best at 1920 × 1080 pixels and are cropped to 16:9; LinkedIn recommends the same size for each newsletter article. Event covers must be 16:9 and at least 480 pixels wide, for example 1280 × 720 or 480 × 270.

Where do these sizes come from?

From LinkedIn's own Help Center articles, listed under Sources on this page and checked on October 20, 2026. Where LinkedIn does not state a size, this page leaves it out instead of guessing.
