Set up your Brain
Tell Tako who you are, how you write, the rules it must follow and the facts it may use.
The Brain is what Tako knows about you. Every draft it helps with is built from it. Open it from Studio > Brain in the sidebar. It has five parts.
Identity#
Who you are and how drafts speak. Type is Solo, Studio or Agency. Drafts speak as is "I" or "We": a solo founder writing for a company can pick "We". Add your website and what you do, for whom, then Save company.
Voice#
Describe how you write, in your own words, then Save voice. This is where every draft starts, even before Tako has learned anything.
As you publish, Tako learns from your real posts. What we learned about your voice shows a summary, and Refresh updates it. Importing your past X posts helps here too (see Connect LinkedIn and X).
Writing rules#
Your own rules for every draft, reply and suggestion Tako writes with you. They win over Tako's defaults. Turn on any of these:
- No hashtags
- No emojis
- Short sentences
- No em dashes
- Plain, direct language
- No exclamation marks
- Sentence case
- Max length (280 chars)
Under Custom rules, add your own, one per entry, such as "Never use passive voice". You can have up to 20. Then Save rules.
Facts#
Real projects, metrics, links, offers and stories. Drafts use only the facts you add here. When a draft needs one you have not added, it shows a {placeholder} for you to fill in, so Tako never invents a number or a client.
Sources#
RSS and Atom feeds, such as your blog or a changelog, used as signals for what to write about. Postopus stores only the link and reads the feed when it suggests ideas.
What the AI sees#
The exact context a draft receives, built from everything above. If a block is empty here, Tako is writing without it. Use it to check what is missing.
