Use Postopus from your AI app
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor to Postopus to capture ideas, draft in your voice, and schedule or publish posts from a chat.
The Postopus connector lets the AI app you already use work with your workspace: capture an idea, list your drafts, draft a post in your voice with Tako, schedule a post or publish it. It uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Cursor all support.
Connector address:
https://mcp.postopus.com/mcp
Before you start#
- The workspace needs a paid plan: Inkling, Deep Diver or Kraken. The free trial on its own does not include the connector, and the sign-in screen will not let you connect a workspace without a paid plan. If you pick a plan while trial days are left, it works from then on.
- You sign in to Postopus with your own account and pick one workspace. The connection acts as you, in that workspace only, and can never do more than your current role there allows. A viewer gets read-only access. If your role changes or you leave the workspace, the connection narrows or stops on its next request.
What stays in your hands#
Tako drafts and you decide what goes out. Your AI app can publish or schedule a post only because you granted it Publish posts right away and delete them from LinkedIn and X and Schedule posts for publishing on the sign-in screen, and it should only do so when you ask it to.
- Every rule of the app applies. If your posts need approval, a post from your AI app cannot be published until an owner or admin approves it, and a post it schedules waits for that approval too. See Approvals.
- Editing an approved post from your AI app sends it back to review.
- A post is never published twice. Only a draft or a failed post can be scheduled or published; a scheduled post can only be moved to a new time.
- Before your AI app deletes a post, it asks whether to delete it only from Postopus or from LinkedIn and X too. Deleting from LinkedIn and X cannot be undone.
- AI drafts count against your workspace's monthly AI allowance.
Check what the AI wrote before you ask it to publish. Every tool is listed in the Connector reference, and you can stop a connection at any time (see Disconnect an app).
Claude#
On claude.ai and in the Claude desktop app:
- Open Customize > Connectors.
- Choose + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it
Postopus, pastehttps://mcp.postopus.com/mcpas the URL and choose Continue. - Review the sign-in settings Claude detects, choose Continue, then Add.
- Sign in to Postopus, pick a workspace and choose Authorize.
To use it in a chat, choose + at the bottom left of the message box, open Connectors and turn Postopus on.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector first in Organization settings > Connectors. Members then find it in Customize > Connectors and choose Connect.
ChatGPT#
Custom MCP servers work on the ChatGPT website (not the mobile apps) for Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces. On Business, only a workspace admin or owner can add one; on Enterprise and Edu, admins and owners can, plus members an admin has given that permission. If that isn't you, ask your workspace admin to add Postopus.
- Go to chatgpt.com/plugins.
- Choose +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it
Postopusand enterhttps://mcp.postopus.com/mcpas the server URL. - Set up the sign-in (OAuth), read the warning and choose I understand and want to continue.
- Choose Create as a plugin and install it. When ChatGPT sends you to Postopus, sign in, pick a workspace and choose Authorize.
To use it, start a new conversation, type @ and pick Postopus. ChatGPT may ask you to confirm before it saves, schedules or publishes something.
Claude Code#
Add the connector from your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http postopus https://mcp.postopus.com/mcp
Then run /mcp in Claude Code, pick postopus and sign in to Postopus in the browser window that opens.
To share it with everyone on a project, add it to .mcp.json at the project root instead:
{
"mcpServers": {
"postopus": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://mcp.postopus.com/mcp"
}
}
}
Cursor#
Add the connector to ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all your projects, or to .cursor/mcp.json in one project:
{
"mcpServers": {
"postopus": {
"url": "https://mcp.postopus.com/mcp"
}
}
}
Cursor signs in to Postopus through your browser. Sign in, pick a workspace and choose Authorize. You can turn the server on or off, or sign out, from Customize in Cursor's sidebar.
The sign-in screen#
When you connect, Postopus asks "Allow (app name) to access Postopus?" and shows:
- the permissions the app asks for;
- where you will be sent back to;
- Unverified app when the app registered itself and Postopus has not reviewed it. Only continue if you started the connection yourself.
Pick the workspace, then choose Authorize, or Deny to cancel. The app gets every permission listed, as far as your role allows. A workspace without a paid plan shows "(needs a paid plan)" and cannot be authorized.
Disconnect an app#
Open Settings > Connected apps in Postopus. It lists the apps connected to the workspace you are in, with whether each is verified, its permissions and when it was last used. Choose Revoke, then Revoke again to confirm: the app loses access to the workspace right away. To use it again, connect it again from the app.
Owners and admins see every app connected to the workspace; members see the ones they connected. Removing the connector in your AI app also stops it from using Postopus.
If you do not use a connection for 90 days, it expires and your AI app asks you to sign in again.
Send what your AI knows about you#
Your AI app may already know a lot about you and your work, from its memory and from what you have connected to it, such as your email, your files or your meeting notes. Instead of typing it all into Postopus, ask it to send it.
- Facts. Your AI app sends facts about you or your company: a project, a metric, a link, an offer or a story, with where each one came from. When you approve one, it joins your Facts and drafts can use it.
- Your writing. Your AI app sends things you wrote or said yourself, such as your best posts, comments, articles or your own words from a call. When you approve one, Tako learns your voice from it.
Nothing is used until you approve it. Everything your AI app sends waits for your review in Postopus, and until you approve it only you can see it. You can approve, edit or reject each fact, and approve or reject each piece of writing. Something you already sent, or rejected, is not added again. Your AI app can send up to 25 at a time.
This needs the permission Suggest facts about you and samples of your writing, which wait for your approval. Viewers do not get it. If you connected your AI app before this permission existed, disconnect it and connect it again.
Things to ask:
- "Tell Postopus what you know about me and my company. Only send things you are sure are true, and tell me where each one came from."
- "Look through my last few months of email and send Postopus the projects I worked on and the results we got."
- "Send my 10 best LinkedIn posts to Postopus as writing samples, exactly as I wrote them."
- "From my meeting notes this week, send Postopus only the things I said myself, as writing samples."
Ask it to send only your own words as writing samples, not text by other people or a rewrite.
Things to ask#
- "Save this as an idea in Postopus."
- "Draft a LinkedIn post in my voice about what we shipped this week."
- "Show my scheduled posts."
- "Schedule draft 'Launch recap' for Tuesday at 9:00 on my LinkedIn account."
- "Move the 'Launch recap' post to Wednesday at 10:00."
- "Publish the 'Launch recap' draft now."
