Connector reference
Every tool the Postopus connector gives your AI app, the permission each one needs, and what it will not do.
The connector at https://mcp.postopus.com/mcp gives your AI app 21 tools. Each one works in the workspace you picked when you connected, through the same checks as the Postopus app: your role, the workspace's plan, approvals and the AI allowance.

propose_facts |
Sends facts about you or your company (a project, a metric, a link, an offer or a story), up to 25 at a time, with where each one came from. Each one waits for your approval. | Suggest facts about you and samples of your writing, which wait for your approval |
add_writing_samples |

The permission names are the ones Postopus shows on the sign-in screen.
What it will do#
- Work only in the one workspace you picked, as you, within your current role.
- Give you text to work with:
draft_in_voicereturns a draft, it does not post anything. - Publish only through
publish_post, which posts publicly on your LinkedIn and X accounts. It goes through the same publishing as Publish Now in the app, first comment included. - Respect approvals. If your posts need approval, a draft it creates waits for review,
publish_postrefuses a post that is not approved, a post it schedules waits for an owner or admin to approve it, and an edit to an approved post sends it back to review. - Count
draft_in_voiceagainst your workspace's monthly AI allowance. - Keep what
propose_factsandadd_writing_samplessend waiting for you. Nothing they send is used until you approve it. An approved fact joins your Facts and is shared with the workspace like any fact you add; an approved writing sample teaches Tako your voice. Until then they are visible only to you. Something you already sent, or rejected, is not added again. See Send what your AI knows about you. - Delete a post only after asking you the question the app's delete dialog asks (see below).
Deleting a post#
Before delete_post runs, your AI app asks you to choose, as the Postopus app does:
- Only from Postopus. The post leaves Postopus with its scheduled publications. Anything already published stays live on LinkedIn and X.
- From Postopus and from the platforms. Postopus also deletes each published copy on LinkedIn and X. That cannot be undone.
The app names the platforms the post went out to before you choose. If LinkedIn or X refuses a delete, the post still leaves Postopus, and the result lists that account with a warning and the link to the post that is still live, so you can remove it there.
You can delete your own posts. Owners and admins can delete any post in the workspace. A post that is publishing at that moment cannot be deleted until it finishes.
delete_idea deletes an idea for good. To keep an idea out of the way, set its status to archived with update_idea instead.
No double posting#
Only a draft or a failed post can be scheduled or published. Two requests at the same moment cannot both publish the same post.
| The post is | schedule_post |
publish_post |
|---|---|---|
| A draft or failed | Schedules it | Publishes it |
| Scheduled | Refused (POST_ALREADY_SCHEDULED); with reschedule, moves it to the new time |
Refused (POST_ALREADY_SCHEDULED) |
| Publishing, published or partially failed | Refused (POST_ALREADY_PUBLISHED) |
Refused (POST_ALREADY_PUBLISHED) |
| Waiting for approval | Scheduled, still waiting for approval | Refused (APPROVAL_REQUIRED) |
What it will not do#
- Publish or schedule a post twice (see above).
- Delete a post without asking you first whether to delete it from LinkedIn and X too.
- Connect or disconnect LinkedIn and X accounts, or change billing, members or settings.
- Upload images or video.
- Do more than your role allows. A viewer can only use the tools that read.
- Work when the workspace has no paid plan. Every tool then answers
SUBSCRIPTION_REQUIRED. The same code comes back when you schedule or publish in a workspace your plan does not cover.
Errors your AI app may see#
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
SUBSCRIPTION_REQUIRED |
The workspace has no paid plan. |
INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE |
The connection lacks the permission for that tool, for example a viewer trying to write. |
NOT_TEAM_MEMBER |
You are no longer a member of the workspace. |
AI_QUOTA_EXCEEDED |
The workspace has used this month's AI allowance. |
RATE_LIMITED |
Too many requests in a minute. Wait and try again. |
POST_ALREADY_SCHEDULED |
The post is already scheduled. Move it with reschedule, or unschedule it in Postopus first. |
POST_ALREADY_PUBLISHED |
The post is publishing or already published. |
APPROVAL_REQUIRED |
The post needs approval before it can be published. |
PUBLISH_FAILED |
Publishing failed on at least one account. |
POST_PUBLISHING |
The post is publishing right now, so it cannot be deleted yet. |
POST_DELETE_NOT_ALLOWED |
Only the post's author or a workspace owner or admin can delete it. |
NOT_FOUND |
No such post or idea in this workspace. |
VALIDATION_ERROR |
Something in the request was not valid, such as a time in the past, or more than 25 facts in one call. |
The full list is on the API page.
Stop the connection#
In Postopus, open Settings > Connected apps and choose Revoke on the app. It loses access to the workspace right away. Owners and admins can revoke any app connected to the workspace; members can revoke their own.
You can also remove the connector in your AI app: in Claude, Customize > Connectors, then Remove; in Claude Code, claude mcp remove postopus. The connection also stops working when you leave the workspace or the workspace's plan ends, and after 90 days without use.
